Morning Platitude from The GratiDude

Your experience in this lifetime is dictated by your perspective. Specifically, when you experience disappointment and anxiety about results, not working out exactly how you had hoped what you were experiencing is not a situation where there is inherently something wrong with what has happened. The only thing “wrong “ was your expectation and how attached you were to an outcome that lined up with what your ego expected.

The gap between reality and the expectation that you created in your mind is disappointment.

This means that there is only one way to change or to impact disappointments occur in your life, and that is to let go of your expectations and to no longer compare what’s going on relative to what you expected to be going on.

This is easier said than done.

You need to take on the perspective of an alchemist.

An alchemist is a throwback term or concept to medieval times that is a combination of magic and science in the simplest explanation.

Back in the day, alchemy involved the efforts to change one METTEL to another through a combination of both science and the occult, for lack of a better term.

Taking the perspective of an alchemist, you can shift and change your own perspective, in real time, by using whatever means necessary. The way we get into a perspective shifting mode, when we are aware that we are not enjoying our current experience, we need to interrupt that pattern and start making the shift through conscious breathing.

With some connected breaths and some stillness, we can return to a more holistic or “big picture” interpretation of your current experience and get back into a state of appreciation relative to your ability to be conscious right now and some other fundamental realities that are worth giving thanks for.

The critical peace in any conversation around understanding your own ability to change your moods, and your state of being in mind is the concept of thought awareness. What exactly is in my thought loop?

95% of your thoughts are on repeat.

Think about that.

That means that unless you have good thoughts on repeat, you only have 5% opportunity to slide in some positivity and some gratitude. That’s terrifying!

What is most problematic is not that we have repetitive thoughts, but that most people are not aware of what their thoughts are. They’re thinking thoughts over and over and over again that impact all of their decisions and behaviors, and they don’t know what those thoughts are.

According to several sources, a significant portion of subconscious thoughts, often estimated at around 90-95%, are repetitive, meaning they are recurring thoughts that are frequently replayed in the mind without conscious awareness.

Key points to remember:

Large portion of subconscious thoughts are repetitive:

Most experts agree that a very high percentage of our subconscious thoughts are repetitive, often due to ingrained patterns and past experiences.

Negative bias:

Studies also suggest that a significant portion of these repetitive thoughts can have a negative slant.

Impact on behavior:

The repetitive nature of subconscious thoughts can significantly influence our behavior and decision-making, even if we aren’t aware of it.

The first thing in the morning transition from subconscious to conscious thinking needs to be respected and carefully nourished. Be gentle with yourself in the morning.

This is why it is so critical and imperative to have some stillness first thing in the morning before any activity introduces outside thoughts and feelings to your very vulnerable and fertile state of mind when you are freshly awoken.

You want to picture the concept of a tuning fork that has a vibration or a tune that you can remember and always come back to during your day when you get thrown off balance.

Understanding that every single mood that you have comes from thoughts, which then generate the feelings that you were experiencing should make you understand that you are not a passenger in the vehicle that is your mind unless you choose to be and just keep your fingers crossed and hope for the best.

Leaving your life to chance is no way to manifest a great experience here.

Introducing mindful practices around stillness, breathing, and some form of daily contemplation, where you connect to something bigger than yourself vis-à-vis nature, some spirituality God, whatever the case may be, you need to recognize that the world does not revolve around you, but that you are simply an interconnected piece of this beautiful world.

It’s totally OK and normal to feel unsettled or not comfortable or not happy. Everyone has these thoughts and feelings every single day. What’s not OK is just simply except how you’re feeling about something that you can’t control as if you are just here for the ride.

Happiness is an inside job, and you are the only architect that can build your own happiness.

Self-love starts with some deep breaths.

And one minute in the morning, simply saying thank you.

And you are well on your way to being a certified attitude, alchemist shining and rolling down the road in a special kind of mood as you flex your bright attitude of gratitude.
