Morning Meditation from The GratiDude

We are not good in our society at helping people connect their passions and interest to finding meaningful gainful employment that is related to those interests. I understand that there are some assessment tools that are made available to young people in schools, but I know exactly how the shit went down when I was growing up and the guidance counselors at my high school steered kids into programs and studies based upon their parents, backgrounds, and socioeconomic situation.

I had friends from poor and working-class families that came out of counseling meetings, and they were told to start taking some shop classes in case they couldn’t get admitted to a college that they could afford.

These kids had much better grades than me as my grade sucked in high school and I graduated with a 2.2 grade average at the ripe old age of seventeen. Funny thing is I thought I was a know-it-all because I was so hurt and insecure about my own value deep down.

I was a couple of years older than a lot of the students at University of California by the time I transferred there, and I was the only student that they knew of on record that started the Latin American studies program that was not yet fluent in Spanish. My professors couldn’t believe it. My junior year went after class. They would speak to me in Spanish, and I would try to respond, and I would sound like an infant.

I told I told them “Don’t worry I’m new to Spanish, but I’m a diligent worker and I’m going to Guatemala this summer to live with a family for a few months and I’ll come back, and you won’t even believe it’s me when you hear me speak”.

And that’s exactly what I did, and I graduated with highest honors in the major that year. I’m enormously proud of that because I worked my ass off and I had to work a lot harder than most students not just academically, but also because I was paying for my own school and working during the week and on the weekends as well.

I still had fun and had time to mountain bike. However, my schedule was very full and to be honest with you. I felt a lot of pressure that I put on myself to excel as it was the first time I’ve really worked hard in school since elementary school, I guess.

And if you look at so many entrepreneurs that created huge businesses, many had to first work for other people to make them realize that they were too smart and had too many cool ideas to work for somebody else anymore.

Other successful entrepreneurs simply had to go through an evolution of time and growth to get to the point where they are more comfortable, listening to their higher self and really growing in on their own gifts from creation and honoring their true desires.

You have always wanted to make a paper airplane and score a goal with it from the nosebleed seats.

Make that plane and throw it, BRO!!!

For me, I had to receive the clarity of living without alcohol in my life, as it turned out to be the wrong octane fuel for my Funny Car.

I also needed to build a daily practice that includes a series of mental physical and emotional wins, and positive experiences every day, starting with morning, meditation, and breath work.

My morning became my cornerstone and the foundation for me to accept embrace and expand my own personal greatness.

So here I am this morning, writing these words to you, hoping to pour encouragement, kindness, and love into your heart and soul to help you love yourself more and feel comfortable for you to pursue whatever is in your heart and mind that might make you and the people around you happy.

I’m an amazingly simple dude as it turns out.

I’ve cracked the code, and I just want to share it with whoever is ready to give themselves more presence and greater enjoyment in their day-to-day life.

That’s it.

Who wants to sing some Christmas Carols??????

I played my drum for Him, pa rum pum pum pum

I played my best for Him, pa rum pum pum pum

Feeling super Christmasy and wearing my Christmas hat here and there and looking to recruit folks to go caroling this weekend in Sarasota. So far I haven’t had any takers so if I need to go solo, so be it, I have no problem rolling as a solo act with an attitude of gratitude.
