Morning Platitude from The GratiDude
One major difference in the way that I think and feel today versus 7 or 8 or even 10 years ago is that my decision making and intuition are so very clear and strong now. When situations arise that require immediate focus, thoughtfulness and decision making I’m capable of dropping whatever I had going on and leaping into the moment fully present and staying focused to make these critical decisions
These days I don’t experience any anxiety in those moments as I’m not attached to outcomes but fully present and focused in the moment to make sure I’m considering all of the variable variables and ensuring that whatever decision or action comes out of this moment that it comes from clarity and clear contemplation that is fully aligned with my ethics values and integrity.
Like this Coach. Fully aligned with what matters.
This is part of the evolution that happened to me about seven years ago the year before I quit drinking as I started to really delve into my gratitude practice because of starting to take yoga classes again. Just another example how you are often led in a direction by your higher self in conjunction with the source of all light love energy and life to start doing something knowing that it’ll lead to something bigger. For me the experience of being forced to connect breath to movement cannot be overestimated as far as the impact that it made in piercing my subconscious and allowing my higher self to grab the microphone and take control.
And as I wrote about yesterday it was really those moments of stillness in between the poses that allowed my higher self to start whispering and then talking and soon shouting in my ear and in my heart that I needed to put the bottle down in order to save myself from myself and move on to forgiving myself for all of the things that I never really did, and were not my fault to begin with.
I started to see clearly what was truly most important to me by using gratitude to point me in the direction of what I cherished the most and what I feared the most of losing if things were to go sideways because of bad decisions or bad outcomes from getting drunk. It became crystal clear to me that alcohol had the potential to cause irreparable damage to my family and my children and potentially destroy my marriage and result in significant trauma for my kids. I understood this not by looking outward or researching information but by getting comfortable with stillness even when it was uncomfortable so that I could get honest and real and aligned between my true values and my everyday behavior.

I’m having some technical issues with my computer today so I’m going to keep this one short and thank you for taking the time to start your day here in the pursuit of your own personal greatness and some peace in mind daily.
Big thanks to God for working through my boy Leo and serving me up a badge for the Master’s tomorrow so I am on my way later this afternoon and heading north and I could not be happier at the opportunity to visit Augusta and the greatest sporting event on earth.
Let me know if you’re going to be there and let’s make sure we hook up and exchange a hug otherwise look for The GratiDude with a face for radio on TV Thursday with a big fat smile and an attitude of gratitude.
