Morning Meditation from The GratiDude

How would people behave  differently if they believed that nobody at all was paying any attention to them or had any concern about their activities and what they were doing.  Along the lines of the cliché quote “dance like nobody’s watching” but do everything and anything like nobody’s watching.

How would the world look and what would people’s lives look like if we LIVED like no one was watching us?

(Cuz they’re not btw).

The reality is everything would look different if people stopped being concerned with the opinions of people that they don’t even know.

Think about that for a minute and marinate on that concept when you start to evaluate your decisions based upon other people’s opinions.

Who are those other people that you’re worried about?

Who taught you to be worried about those other people and why?

Does it benefit you to make decisions based upon those other people’s opinions?

What is the power those other people over to the point where you’re making personal decisions based upon how it might affect them versus how your decisions might impact you, your health, your wellness, your current state of reality?

Who are you concerned about?

Yourself, or random people that are the collective opinion of outside people that have no idea who you are and what you’re trying to do with your life?

Yes, dancing can have many mental, physical, and spiritual health benefits, including:

Mental health

Dancing can improve mental functioning, emotional well-being, and social cognition. It can also help treat depression.

Physical health

Dancing can improve coordination, agility, flexibility, balance, and spatial awareness. It can also strengthen bones and reduce the risk of osteoporosis.

Spiritual health

Dancing can help people gain a sense of control through mastery of movement, possession by the spiritual, and confronting stressors.

Social health

Dancing can improve social skills and self-esteem. Some say that dancing with other people is a special feeling.

Immune system

Dancing can strengthen the immune system through muscular action and physiological processes.

Stress relief

Dancing can help moderate, eliminate, or avoid tension, chronic fatigue, and other disabling conditions that result from stress.

You can benefit from any dance style, from ballet to funk. The key is to find the style you enjoy the most

How are you ever going to get off the wall and dance to your own tune if you’re worried about how people might react to your form of dancing?

This is a gentle kick in the ass to get you off the wall if you are currently being a wallflower at the dance, which is your life.

If you are feeling the music in your body and in your feet yet, not moving those same feet because of some fear or uncertainty as to how other people might react, I can tell you right now you will regret that perspective later on in life when you no longer have the luxury of being able to physically locomote and move your body under your own volition like you probably do today if you’re choosing to read this post.

“How ya gonna do it if you really don’t wanna dance, by standing on the wall?

Get your back up off the wall!”

Don’t take my word for it, though go ahead and Google all of the testimonials and anecdotal tales and stories(and there are millions of them literally now) of senior citizens and old people telling anyone that will listen what they regret the most now that they are about to die.

I will keep reminding you about this until you get off your ass and start dancing.

Everyone that did not live an authentic life regrets the fact that they stuffed their dreams down and chose to live according to other people’s concerns and expectations.

Don’t wait to have the clarity of death to put on your dancing shoes and participate in this life.

When the student is ready, the teacher always appears and the www.grateful4.org is right here in your mailbox, ready to help you in any way that we can to help you get comfortable and connected to your breath so you could start dancing with the rest of us. Let’s all take a deep breath and work on how to get the most out of this very short and precious life that we all have been gifted by the source of all light, love, Energy and life.

In my humble, grateful opinion, God and the universe want us to dance as often as possible to smile as much as we can, and to be together in celebration and movement when our bodies permit and our spirit desires.

Enjoy the weekend getting your back up off the wall and we’ll see you out in Mother Nature, or  in the gym, at the yoga studio, or on the dance floor, and wherever you spot us it will be with an attitude of gratitude.
