Morning Meditation from The GratiDude

All right, all right all right!

I am feeling funky with my bad self today and super happy to be alive and to celebrate the ongoing pursuit of perfecting the very center of my Ikigai.

Another refresher here on the concept with the visual, which is helpful.

For me zeroing in on that overlapping circle center I continue to sharpen how I can find the ideal vehicle or situation that leverages everything that I’m doing here currently www.grateful4.org and it’s a fun process.

I know that I have an overwhelming constant desire to collaborate with other people and to share information, thoughts, and ideas that can improve the quality of an individual’s life experience.

I can’t really get more specific than that because I don’t need to, and I don’t want to.

This above covers; writing, coaching, the ongoing development and scaling of the nonprofit and gratitude movement in Golf and beyond, as well as participating in innovation and new technologies that are new/value added/different in the marketplace, and helping to bring those good services or concepts to the golf and resort industry as is my specialty.

I also give away some of my most precious work and that’s these morning writings every single day.

I have not missed today in a year, and I love the fact that there are Sisters and Brothers out there that are choosing to begin your day with my humble ruminations and encouragement to live a grateful life.

And that’s part of the mix, right?

Manifesting opportunities to create hobbies, volunteer work, or businesses around the things that you love to do is personally enjoyable and when you give away as much as you can afford to in the service of others, well,  THAT feels even BETTER!  .

That could be as simple as a dance lesson.

Or, if you are a Golf Industry business executive, you might tutor some kids in writing or public speaking, something you would have plenty of experience with and that would be extremely helpful for ALL kids.

You simply keep your eyes peeled when you go grocery shopping and look for people that might be sick, poor, or elderly and in need of assistance because you have the physical capacity to help.

The reality is that the economic system does not always provide enough incentive for people to “give it away “.

Let’s face it, if we didn’t have a stack of bills arriving every month, we could spend all of our time volunteering to the causes most near and dear to us, and never have to worry about remuneration.

Unfortunately for society and ourselves that’s not the case, so we must get creative in how we find ways to contribute and take advantage of the incentives where they do exist.

And of course, volunteering is GOOD for you!  It helps your heart, head, and energy when you engage with assisting others.

Volunteering can significantly improve your emotional well-being by providing a sense of purpose, boosting self-esteem, reducing stress, and creating social connections, which can lead to feeling better both emotionally and energetically; research shows that volunteers often report higher levels of happiness and life satisfaction compared to non-volunteers.

Key points about how volunteering can improve your emotional state:

Increased sense of purpose:

Contributing to a cause you care about can give your life greater meaning and direction.

Social connection:

Volunteering often involves interacting with others, which can combat feelings of loneliness and isolation.

Stress reduction:

Helping others can shift your focus away from your own problems, providing a stress-relieving effect.

Improved self-esteem:

Completing tasks and making a positive impact can boost your confidence and self-worth.

Release of positive chemicals:

The act of helping others can trigger the release of dopamine and endorphins, which promote feelings of happiness and well-being

I have not begun to utilize the nonprofit that is the underpinning of the grateful organization from an economic or strategic standpoint, yet however, learning about how to utilize that vehicle and where it can be leverage to maximize the community impact has been a fascinating learning experience in the first few years.

This is part of my Ikigai and overlapping circles and being strategic in setting myself up to have the constellation and flywheel business-wise that I need to both drive my contributions and to create a reasonable lifestyle that isn’t overly limiting or challenging  from a financial standpoint.

Monetize and give away the absolute best that you have and work to find a nice balance. This will allow you to continue to contribute that delicious ingredient of yourself to the rock soup for our living family.

We’re thankful for you and your attitude of gratitude.
