I am looking for something bigger to say than just “THANK YOU!” Any ideas?

Morning Meditation from The GratiDude
This morning, surrounded by down trees, as if I have a neighborhood full of Lorax’s living around me, I don’t know if I’ve ever felt more grateful than right now.
It’s a combination of the relief of surviving this experience but more so the fact that looking back on it over the last seven days, my energy rarely wavered or became disconnected from source.
There were a few surreal moments during the actual impact of the hurricane, one being when I was eating Mexican food in Alabama at the moment that Fox Weather announced that they forecasted the track of the hurricane to be at my buddy David Chessler’s house near Midnight Pass Rd, Siesta Key, Florida.
And I know, it pissed off everybody from this area have all of the national and international news saying that siesta key is 8 miles south of Sarasota. “What the FU(% map are they looking at??” is what I was yelling at the TV back at my Airbnb.
“ Siesta key is Sarasota you stupid bastards and that’s the barrier island that extends next to Sarasota and just because your Google maps from the Ritz-Carlton hotel to siesta key shows eight miles it’s only about a mile and a half is the crow flies or as hurricane Milton barrels.”
My ego was manifesting its frustration with a lack of control and all of the fear I was experiencing for the place I love and all of my loved ones and so I was letting those people have it, releasing my anger at not being able to do ANYTHING to help the people I love. All from the comfortable confines of my 160-year-old Victorian in the middle of nowhere, dry, and safe and warm.
The people on this trip for the last week have been incredible and the number of faces that appear in my mind right now are in the dozens.
The response to my GratiDude poker chips in small town places and even at rest stops was profound.
I had a woman tell me that this was the sign she was waiting for and she was putting this on her vision board as part of rekindling her dream of being a professional singer in Nashville. I was like “wow, I was just chatting you up because you were expressing gratitude, and your energy was so great. I had no idea I was pouring gas on the dreams of the next Taylor Swift.” .
We both started laughing, and she is following me on Instagram and we’re going to stay in touch so I can help her keep that dream fire burning bright.
Another incredible person is my host Daniel a retired preacher from Wisconsin who bought property in Dixie County Florida, and created a safe compound of simple, living, and spiritual encouragement.
He has held church services there on his property and he and his wife help take care of their 45-year-old son who has cognitive issues from a traumatic car accident when he was 13 years old.
He was already identified as a genius level at the age of ten and so the irony of him having cognitive issues now as an adult is not lost on them, and there is a bitterness to their life there however, all rooted and gratitude and appreciation for everything they have.
Daniel’s Son is happy and quite engaging and if you were to meet him at the grocery store, you wouldn’t know that he was suffering from a car accident 32 years ago.
We are going to stay in touch as well.
Danielle took my Chip and promised that not only was he going to bed on himself, but he was going to double down and all his dreams, including getting into some coaching and teaching other folks how to launch their own Airbnb.
Today I’m going to go grocery shopping and I’m going to look exactly like the fat white dude in the beard and concert T-shirt looking to dance celebrating and get down with anybody that is on that same vibration.
(I had to purge my Fridge after losing power, some interesting odors!! Ha!! Grocery shopping a must)
And of course, The Grateful 4 Organization must explain to you why being SPONTANEOUS is GOOD for your HEALTH!!
HA!!
Yes, being spontaneous can improve happiness and health:
· Happiness
Studies suggest that people who are spontaneous are happier and more satisfied with their lives. Spontaneity can help people feel less stressed and bored and can make life more interesting and enjoyable.
· Relationships
Spontaneous actions and surprises can make relationships more exciting and fresher and can help strengthen bonds.
· Health
A 2016 study found that people with less spontaneity in their lives experienced greater psychological suffering.
· Openness
Spontaneity can help people be more open to new experiences, which can boost happiness.
· Positive outlook
Spontaneous people can look at every situation and pull the good from it, which can help them put a positive spin on things.
While spontaneity can be a trait in many personality types, anyone can develop their spontaneity. However, being spontaneous can be challenging for some people because of a need for control and predictability-See TypeCoach!! This is especially important folks!!
Sarasota is a mess. However, I’m looking forward to experiencing the gratitude and energy of appreciation that everyone will have based upon the impact being not as bad as many of us anticipated.
The fact that there is no significant loss of life is the focus and if that’s not cause for dancing in the grocery store, I don’t know what would be.
The reality is that I’m ready at the grocery store anytime and if somebody asked me to dance at the grocery store, I could never even imagine the time where I would say no. I’m not even joking, no matter what happened to me during that day, there would be something wrong with me if I couldn’t put that down and take advantage of the opportunity to dance.
You might take this opportunity to ask yourself: “would I dance? Would I be ready to put on my blue suede shoes and boogie or would I be too concerned about what other people think of me?”.
Hopefully, you’ll dance.
I’m very excited to be back in the saddle to finalize some of the details so I can announce my next coaching program with the grateful Ford organization this week as well as to get going on marketing our golf yoga retreat fundraiser, which all of you will have the opportunity to participate in as a tax deductible experience that helps fund the cornerstone of a nationwide grateful for golf and grateful for program. Going to update site www.grateful4.org over the next few weeks and gear up for a MASSIVE Q4 of growing together.
More details on that, of course.
I’m going to continue to put my Humpty Dumpty House back together again around here and enjoy $1 million Monday with my attitude of gratitude.
