The G.I.F.T. Today
Grateful: for the emotions I feel from my kid cooking breakfast for themselves and I love the smell in the house after. Like a live in a Waffle House.

Morning Meditation from The GratiDude
I can remember the first year I was sober off alcohol going back five years ago.
I was both leaning into my growing sense of presence and appreciation for gratitude with every single day that passed as my meditation and mine continued to feel stronger and stronger.
In those meditations I realized that this neuroscientific miracle that I had experienced and was now leveraging needed to be shared.
I can recall, wondering how I would find ways to have conversations and to share my story so that other folks that are going through difficult challenges and times can either relate or feel inspired to have hope for themselves.
I was struggling to figure out how I could create an avenue for myself to be fully expressive in all my interactions, and I needed some sort of “license to love” so to speak.
Sales guru on LinkedIn named Keenan, who has a company called “A Sales Growth” Company has T-shirts that say “Bet on Yourself “.

I love the slogan and encouragement, and I realize that was the way that I could create something to use to have conversations and to carry with me everywhere I go. The concept of “Doubling Down” on your dreams and using the conversations as a vehicle to introduce positive self-talk was coming together.
The GratiDude poker chip was born.

GratiDude Currency, My License to Love
If I was a gourmet Meat Man like this friendly and kind intestine stuffing, smoker-smoking neighbor, I too would go door to door with my GratiSausages instead of inedible poker chips.
I believe it would behoove all of us to find a way to find creative and practical ways to share energy, aid, even hold a door open, just take action to benefit other people in some conscious way regularly.
It gives our life meaning.
The obvious Joy that Sausage Man(SM) feels as he gives his gifts is palpable through the video.
Giving is his Gift to His Higher Self and what The Universe or God is whispering for him to do.
It is what Sausage Man is COMPELLED to do.
It’s also a great exercise to get you out of your ego or self-absorbed thinking that is encouraged and very easy to fall into when we have so much to think about relative to day-to-day responsibilities, financial pressures, etc.
Another great benefit is how giving uplifts all witnesses.
“It’s the fantastic warm, elevated feeling we get when we witness acts of kindness. Even the most simple altruistic acts might give you a touch of this: a passer-by giving his packed lunch to a homeless man, a stranger offering to help a blind person cross the road, or a subway passenger giving up his seat for an old lady.”

And the greatest thing you could give even better than sausages and poker chips?
What we all carry around with us and it’s the love in our heart and a smile with some eye contact.
When you smile at a stranger you are unleashing powerful healing energy, and it has a real impact:
“The truth is that we are wired to empathize with others’ experiences, both happy and painful. Empathy is what drives us to care for others and is fundamental in establishing a healthy moral compass; conversely, a lack of empathy can result in the detrimental impairment of one’s emotional and social functioning. This connection that empathy creates is crucial to healing emotional wounds. People often come to therapy expecting to be given tools and practical steps toward being happier. Yes, that is a beneficial piece of it, but I do not believe that aspect of therapy is what promotes the genuine long-term healing change people seek. Based on my experience and the supporting research, empathy is the foundational component of therapeutic healing. People seem to benefit from just feeling heard and understood much more than they do from the coping tools they are given.”(https://www.brightfuturespsychiatry.com/empathy-the-case-for-smiling-at-strangers/)
For most people that’s going to be way better than the tastiest sausage or even a whole stack of poker chips for that matter.
And if you feel like Sausage Man and The GratiDude, you too get so much satisfaction and joy out of giving that you might want to THANK the people you are GIVING stuff to.
Watch the end of the video, when sausage man thanks the neighbors taking all his gifts by saying what kind and great neighbors they are. I bet all the property values on that street would go up if people knew how kind that sausage man was.
We can drive up the value of everyone’s experience around us in our own neighborhood just by offering up a few smiles and some complements and some kindness.
A great Friday Neighborhood Improvement program all fostered by an attitude of gratitude.
