To work on change you must leverage Faith and a Great Squad aligned with Growth.
Every great process that you enter into requires a degree of faith for you to stay consistent to that process.
This is especially true for shadow work involving integrating past traumas in your own life, understanding your personal growth, history, and potential path, and especially true when it comes to relationships and the ongoing need to cultivate and connect.
The most obvious example of this is when you enter into an exercise health and wellness program aimed at improving your physical condition. It is very difficult to see any meaningful results in the first few weeks, which also happened to be the most challenging times if you haven’t been exercising or being active regularly. This is why so many people quit in the early stages of these endeavors as without faith or without trust in the process you are undergoing it is difficult to see the justification for the hard work.
When you start working on the stuff that society encourage you to bury in the backyard forget all about or maybe just numb through prescription drugs, alcohol, sex, or some other addiction.
And when you get in there and roll up your sleeves by getting comfortable in the moment of now connecting to your breath and listening to what’s going on and the chatter, it’s very easy to just run away. It feels like you’ve gone down into the seller where the ghost and scary people are and you wanna just make a break for it and run back up those stairs and outside into denial.
This is having Community and other people that are working on themselves and focused on growth in your tight squad is imperative. Imagine if I was trying to quit alcohol over five years ago and every day I would have dinner with friends that were drinking alcohol, it would’ve been much more difficult for me to make the change I’ve been around that.
You need to stack the deck in your favor by surrounding yourself with people that are in a position, emotionally mentally and spiritually that you wish to be in and that also can provide encouragement and support for you in the process.

Remembering that all of your most difficult challenges are the things that have made you the strongest is critical so you stay focused on knowing that doing the shadow work uncovering difficult past memories and experiences is just like adding extra weight onto that bench press bar and knocking out some reps that you know will make you stronger.
Some Tips from Jasmin Oliver, who wrote about this work:
1. Understand Your Shadow Self
Imagine your shadow self as the child version of you that is screaming out in pain because that’s really what it is. The deepest part of you, the rawest of your pure nature has been scared by experiences in your life and that little girl/guy is dedicated to making sure it never happens again.
2. Take Care Of Yourself
This journey is the equivalent of proving to a very hurt child that they can trust your decisions. Just like anyone, actions speak louder than words. This is when you merge your knowledge into your life and make actions towards creating a healthier lifestyle.
3. The Big Release/Integrating Fully With Shadow
If your shadow self has been created from a traumatic childhood this step is where you give yourself what you’ve always needed. Usually, this process will force you into solitude because it’s a very deep journey of inner light/shadow work. Becoming vulnerable with your shadow self after step one and two (because you’ve established trust) is a healing experience on its own. When you yourself break down be open about how scared, worried or hurt you are.
For me personally over the last year, I’ve gone through some incredibly difficult challenges and life changes, and I have relied on asking for help and leaning on friends, both old and new during difficult times.
This past year has taught me the value and need of asking for help and just how incredible it is when the universe continues to deliver day after day moment by moment.
Just one more thing to be thankful for that grows and expands my Attitude of Gratitude.
