Tonight, we will revisit some fundamental concepts from TypeCoach, LLC , the FISH! Philosophy, and some key concepts about “thought accountability” from Merril Hoge, who brought Present Moment Awareness to LIFE with concrete, practical anecdotes.

Modern social context reminder for self-love is often the oxygen mask metaphor from the security briefing prior to a commercial plane’s departure.

That is the presentation done by one of the flight attendants that reviews all of the safety procedures and processes in the case of an emergency during your trip.

The main message to adults when it comes to the use of oxygen masks is to always make sure that you put the mask on yourself first before assisting others.

This may be counterintuitive as an initial reaction to protect your loved ones would be a natural reflex.

Instead, the smartest thing to do is to make sure that you were able to participate in the evacuation process as well and to do that you will need to be conscious and to continue breathing oxygen ha ha.

Taking care of yourself so you can help others is very clear here.

However, when you get really down to it, it’s a little bit more complicated than that because you have to commit to an ongoing way of life lifestyle or mindset in order to make putting the mask on not just a one time event or an occasional practice for it to have a regular cadence. A way of life, every day.

In ancient times the connection to having water for survival was far more palpable and real than it is today.  Many of us are more concerned with what flavor our bottled water is and whether or not it came from a French spring or a California mountain and we’ve probably lost track of the fact that securing and finding a safe source for drinking water was the first act for any civilization or group of people wishing to settle down and not be nomadic.

The phrase “my cup overfloweth” goes back to the very first utterances of human language as water and the consumption there of has always been tied to life itself.

Being grateful and present allows you to hold yourself accountable and ask yourself: “What am I pouring into my cup in terms of your self-talk, your internal dialogue, my daily physical practices, the people that I am are choosing to be around physically, all of the energetic ingredients in my life? Any changes needed?”

Are Your People filling Your Cup?

When you meet me in person, you will feel the joy and love in my heart.

Facts.

The reason being is that I can’t contain the AGAPE that literally feels like it’s popping out of my chest like the popcorn that would burst out of the top of a Jiffy Pop popcorn pan back in the 70s(google Jiffy Pop Kids if you don’t know).

My Heart on the Left, bursting with love.

The Grinch’s heart on the right, BEFORE his Heart grew 3 sizes.

This makes giving kindness and love to friends and strangers alike effortless because all I have to do is simply show up and be present in the moment of NOW.

The practice that allows me to share these positive feelings with all folks that I encounter is a direct result of my commitment to a process, and a practice that begins every morning before the sun comes up.

This is the main reason why my health and physical appearance have improved so much over the last few years. My Self-Love game has improved greatly! More on the health benefits according to DaVinci Labs:

“Research has shown that learning to love yourself and cultivating a positive self-image can have a significant impact on physical health outcomes. Whether you’re looking to boost your energy levels, reduce stress, or decrease the risk of future health problems, self-love and self-esteem are key components of a healthy lifestyle.”

My meditation and spiritual practice is what makes everything work and it is what guides me and allows me to continue to fill my own cup with self-love and support my personal growth and the pursuit of my own unique flavor of greatness.

Where can you start?

Here, 10 little things that add up to BIG CHANGES in your Mindscape.

10 WAYS TO FOSTER SELF-LOVE AND IMPROVE PHYSICAL HEALTH

How do we learn to love ourselves? The answer is not universal, but there are several  ways to foster self-love in your daily life and see positive changes to your physical wellbeing:

  1. Practice mindfulness: Mindfulness is a great way to connect with yourself and cultivate self-love. Take some time each day to focus on the present moment and connect with your body and thoughts.

  2. Exercise regularly: Exercise is a great way to improve physical health, reduce everyday stress, and increase self-love. Find a type of exercise that you enjoy and make it a regular part of your routine.

  3. Eat a balanced diet: Eating a balanced diet that includes whole foods, fruits, and vegetables can improve physical health and help you feel better about yourself.

  4. Get enough sleep: Getting enough sleep is essential for physical health and can help you feel better about yourself. Try to get at least 7-8 hours of sleep each night.

  5. Practice positive self-talk: The way you talk to yourself can have a big impact on your self-love and physical health. Practice positive self-talk and replace negative thoughts with positive ones.

  6. Spend time with supportive people: Surrounding yourself with supportive people can help you feel better about yourself and improve your physical health.

  7. Engage in activities you enjoy: Whether it be physical activity or other hobbies, prioritize activities that make you feel happy and fulfilled. If nothing comes to mind, try something new on your own, or look around to see what is offered in your community.

  8. Don’t neglect oral health: Research shows that dental health is a window into your overall health.  Dental health is a key indicator of overall health, and the health of the mouth and teeth can have a significant impact on the health of the entire body. Focus on a diet rich in nutrient-dense foods, particularly those containing fat-soluble vitamins and minerals. Don’t underestimate the importance of regular brushing and flossing to prevent the development of dental problems.

  9. Recognize and manage stress: Numerous studies show stress can have a significant impact on physical health, contributing to the development of various discomforts. For example, stress can weaken the immune system and lead to a heightened inflammatory response. Additionally, stress can affect the body’s digestive system, respiratory system, skin, and musculoskeletal system, leading to a variety of health problems.[2]

  10. Practice forgiveness: Practicing forgiveness can have a positive impact on both emotional and physical health. Studies have shown that holding onto grudges and resentment can lead to negative emotions, such as anger and anxiousness which can contribute to occasional stress and physical health problems. Forgiveness, on the other hand, can lead to feelings of compassion, empathy, and inner peace, which can reduce stress and improve overall well-being.[3]
