Not Too late…

DOUBLE DONATION, ALL RECORDED, NO EXCUSES, JUST GROWTH…..NOW!

https://grateful4.org/6-weeks-program/

If someone would’ve told me in my early 30s that I would decide to start a new career or a new path of life in my 50s there is absolutely no way I would’ve believed it.

However, when I think about it, there’s nothing in my life that I could’ve predicted when I was a young man growing up in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

That is an incredibly important thing to remember your sense of control and your planning and all of the things you think are going to happen can be changed in an instant.

Whether it is meeting someone new changes your perspective on something, an active God that comes out of nowhere like an earthquake in California on a beautiful sunny day, or a diagnosis that you had no idea was coming for a health element that has suddenly afflicted yourself, or perhaps another loved one.

At the end of day is promised, and tomorrow is certainly not promised to anybody, so pursuing your greatness, and your various passions are paramount.  This is not the dress rehearsal life and you are never too old to start over as long as you’re mine is open.

Remember, the mind is like a parachute and it functions wide open.

One person with a wide open mind is the legendary athlete turned musician, Bob Beamon.

Bob Bean one the long jump in the 1968 Olympics and completely shattered the world record in the process.  It was an athletic performance that was stunning and its greatness and still stands the test of time.

“Bob is a guy who is saying, ‘I’m not done living yet,’” says Abiodun Oyewole, a childhood friend who is also a founding member of the influental rap group The Last Poets and performs a spoken-word song on “Olimpik Soul.”

“Life begins at 70 for some people.”

Read that again please.

Here’s another cool thing about your next act as well, and that is that you don’t have to check with anybody to get approval.

You literally can dream huge things and then share them with your loved ones and advisors and settle on current dream you wish to pursue.

We elevate that dream to a goal by simply applying dates and a basic plan.

Perhaps Bob decided that he had always loved music and that he wished to pursue learning and enjoying specifically, percussion.

He was not choosing to pick up the drums for some economic reason or because someone told him he should do it. It was something that came from within through his ability to get comfortable and stillness and listen to his higher self and something bigger than his ego.

That is where he heard the drum beat.

For me when I started taking hot yoga about six years ago, that is when I started to hear the crystal clear whispers from my higher self about quitting alcohol.  That is the gift and the curse about learning how to come into the moment is that you will get the information that you need not necessarily the information you want.

In other words when I started to listen to the silence, it wasn’t telling me things like “drinking a few fistful of vodka every night is no big deal…. millions of people in America do that every day.”

OR

“Kev, you and Tito maybe secret Gay lovers, but still, you’re looking really healthy. Your weight is great and you eat well….Alcohol will get flushed out of the system as long as you keep exercising”.

Yeah, right. And Denial is NOT a river in Egypt.

This is just another major benefit of learning to break the habit of having your mind constantly be thinking about future or past thoughts.

Deep breaths and calm thoughts in the present are where your information can arrive from sources outside of a news channel or an Internet feed.

You might hear a drum beat like Bob.

“With his wall of records behind him, he stares across the room toward a poster that says “Mexico68,” a framed ‘certificate of recognition’ from Mexico City and a black-and-white photo of him on the podium, the now-sold medal around his neck.

‘You’ve squeezed all the juice out of life,’ Brisbane is constantly telling him.

Beamon nods slowly to the beat. Then the holder of one of the Olympics’ greatest records closes his eyes as he slaps the top of his drums, lost in the music of another kind of record with his name on it.”

Me?

I heard the simple instructions telling me that I had always known what I wanted to do and I need to just figure out how to do it by asking for help from people with more experience and that are smarter than me.

So I did that.

It is working.

It is working very well.

And I encourage you to try a similar approach and listen to what messages come for you because everybody has a different program but where we meet front and center, where we keep our Attitude of Gratitude.
