I love the line “how can you tell when somebody needs encouragement? “

“They are breathing”.

In other words, everybody needs encouragement all the time yet if we sit and wait for it to come to us without making a conscious effort to bring it into our lives, we will be waiting a long time.

We learned the power of encouragement firsthand, usually before we can even put a sentence together as little tiny hairless, baby monkeys.

That is when we hear our efforts being applauded, and even our failures being celebrated.

What am I talking about?

When we all learned to walk.

I hate to say this, but if you think about it, it’s probably the last time in your life that all of your efforts and failures will be equally celebrated, and you have absolutely no concerns at all about failing.

Focused on getting back and trying it again because you’re hearing so much encouragement, applause and cheering that you just want more of it. More positive energy, more support, more encouragement, more love.

And guess what? We learn to walk FASTER this way.

You see our hardwiring in our brains and bodies has us set up to be fueled by positive energy and encouragement.

Our very evolutionary survival was dependent on everyone in the tribe, being able to move under their own power in order to hunt, gather evade danger and to survive.  so our brains had to be stacked in terms of setting us up to get us to walk as quickly as possible because that simply meant that our genetics and DNA have a much greater chance of moving forward and being passed on as part of the ongoing and endless chain of life.

However, as individual ego constructs are created, and a perception of separateness takes over our daily thinking, we are no longer hearing cheers and applause from people both for our attempts, and certainly not for our failures.

We have to be our own cheerleader in this life.

We must surround ourselves with other positive, encouraging people so that we have the opportunity to pursue our own personal greatness.

I can appreciate that for some people Chick-fil-A maybe polarizing because of their Christian philosophy, being closed on Sunday and some of the political or social issues they support politically through donations, etc..  For more on the life of the founder of Chick-fil-A, read this:

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/S._Truett_Cathy

I get it and understand how businesses that are vocal about Religion become polarizing, for me however, I’m more concerned with bigger messages around values, integrity, love compassion, and unity.

I don’t care anymore if any, if someone is Christian or atheist Muslim Buddhist Catholic, I am focused on behavior and actions and what’s going on in local communities.

I don’t have any time for the politics that have evolved into the art of separation.

Jeff Foxworthy here who has more money than he could ever spend in this lifetime is choosing to give speeches to small crowds and big crowds to talk about important things like how you should live your life with meaning and purpose.

He uses the example of the founder of Chick-fil-A, who made it a point to teach others to be encourages or to always be positive and supportive of other people.

His quote about being able to tell who needs help by whether or not they’re breathing is perfect.

And let’s give it up for anybody that chooses to use their microphone once they become famous and have access, to send messages of love and compassion like Jeff Foxworthy.

And while we’re at it, before he passes away from this earth, let’s give it up for another Georgia peach former President Jimmy Carter.  President JC spent his retirement raising money in awareness for habitat for humanity and climbing his old ass up ladders for about 20 years, swinging hammers and hanging sheet rock.

Are you effing kidding me?

Can you see either of our current candidates be concerned with other people like this?

Not to mention what would happen if either of those Presidential jackasses tried to climb a ladder ha ha ha ha.

Jeff Foxworthy covers a lot of what we will cover from the book FISH! as well.

Jeff is saying that:

We can choose our own attitude, and we should choose an attitude of encouraging other.

When we choose this attitude, we are focused on making others experiences or improving other peoples life in that moment.

This is the life of meaning when you are others, focused and not focused on yourself.

Just another example of all of the good people and good thoughts and good things that are going on out there if you tune into the right channel and you don’t consume toxic information that is being disseminated to instill fear and limit your personal happiness.

Don’t take the bait and don’t drink that bullshit Kool-Aid that encourages division and fear.

Be an Encourager.

A P.S.A from the GratiDude, as I stuff down a Spicy Chicken Sandwich while riding shotgun with Jeff Foxworthy in his lifted Ford 350 as Johnny Cash live from Folsom plays from the Jeff’s 12 inch subwoofers.

We park facing out so we can wave to folks, share good vibes, and we encourage others as they walk by to smile and enjoy life and grab a french fry to go with their Tuesday Attitude of Gratitude!
