I like where my thinking is taking me. These Niceness Muscles are NICE!

I saw an interesting article in national news suggesting that statistically more and more men in the United States are choosing to accept the health health risks associated with taking steroids in exchange for the upside of six pack, abs and physical appearance, etc..
Not a new phenomenon, but interesting that steroids would still be in vogue given the known health risks, but I guess it still is the fastest way to bulk muscle and a pretty easy and available shortcut for many.
This made me think about the decision-making process of these individuals…. where their priorities are, where their focuses are. The article honestly made me really thankful that I don’t have a mindset that would allow me to rationalize taking steroids right now. 20 years ago if you would’ve told me that I would’ve done it I wouldn’t doubt it for a second even though I had the opportunity to take him since I was a teenager and always chose not to.
Back in the 80s there were already Dudes doing ‘Roids in the Bodybuilding world, and definitely in college football. It was extremely prevalent as I found out from getting to know numerous college football players at the University of Michigan as a teenager. I remember very famous offensive lineman, who went on the NFL telling me that he knew the steroids were in full cycle when he was throwing defensive lineman off of himself like they were fleas and then after practice when he took a shower and he was washing himself he could barely find his testicles because they had shrunk so much.
That is the extreme of steroids, let me tell you.
My focus and lifestyle is on kindness and love and it’s really fascinating because I’m feeling the effects of the cliché that you “become your thoughts “.
I’m starting to feel like I’m a walking gratitude-Meat Suit that has antennas up all the time looking for someone that can use a hand as I’m moving through the universe.
I just noticed this the other day when here in my neighborhood, out of the corner of my eye, I thought I saw an old woman that had fallen down. I quickly started to turn to go over to help her….when I realized that she had simply bent down to tie her shoelace suddenly, and without seeing it, it just looked like she had taken a tumble.
I paused and pondered.
The fact that my awareness is on the lookout for folks that could use Assistance is really great, so I want to water that seed!
Not that I’m a superhero or that I have any particular skills.
I’m just healthy and able bodied right now and lots of folks are struggling.
It’s that simple.
The fascinating thing is that the feedback loop of helping people, when you actually have the opportunity to do it and they’re not just tying their shoe, makes you want to do even more of what you just did. When you realize that folks actually do need help and they’re appreciative of the kindness and it reinforces love and unity in my little community. Why wouldn’t I just keep doing that every day?
When you do something every day that’s called a lifestyle.
It is the style within which you live your life.
My style is a 3 mile smile.
My style is putting others first so that my community can thrive.
My style is making sure that my family is safe and healthy and that is my number one priority.
My style is showing up every single morning to serve up a grateful breakfast of delectable positive thoughts for you, my Dear Grateful Friend, who has chosen to take the time today to read this in an effort to start your day the right way.
By making present moment awareness a priority in your life, you have the opportunity to create a lifestyle that is fully aligned with your values and your integrity, and your unique way of moving through the universe will provide a positive example for others.
The great news is that there is only one style like yours because there is never been, and there never will be another You.
I’m not making that shit up.
So even if your style is just “I’m still figuring it out and trying to be the best person I can be “, that’s a hell of a style and that just reinforces my 3 mile smile.
So TGIF all damn day, Namaste, and let’s all create a lifestyle that incorporates our super delicious Attitude of Gratitude.
