I know my Why, so here is my How, My Where, and the time is Now. Any Questions?
It’s an important conversation however it’s become rather cliché, when people talk about the ultimate motivation or reasons for them to be the best version of themselves. When people have these conversations in western society, they usually talk about the idea of what or discovering their “why “.
And listen, without your why you would be like an Uber driver, driving around with literally no destination in mind and hoping to make money somehow having a passenger jump in your car with nowhere to go and no particular destination. That would be the only type of client that you could serve if you have no idea where you’re going and what your motivation is.
So finding your “Why” is pretty damn important.
For about a solid 15 years, I thought I was living in alignment with prioritizing my “why” by burying and trying to forget my true desires and calling in life(helping others be happy). I instead decided to focus on financial security so I could take care of my family, who is right at the center of my universe and the most important thing in the world to me.
I thought it was One or the Other.
For literally thousands of days I was getting up hungover thinking that on some level I was doing the right thing by burying my dreams, my soul but producing revenue and keeping my wife and kids in material comfort.
Meanwhile, because my focus was on the wrong place, I’d still lose my temper and yell and create trauma and bad memories for my family through excessive anger and just being sick from alcohol on a regular basis.
This is my biggest shame and learning opportunity going forward, not realizing how my anger impacted others, and I was angry at myself and dead people, not my Family.
Sorry, as you know Fam.
Mind you, I was never that angry drunk however the way alcohol worked in my body, the anxiety and maladies that come with consistent alcohol consumption made it very hard to always control my reactions and to stay calm.
When anxiety is riding shotgun all the time as an alcoholic with lingering emotional traumas that need to be dealt with, it is really hard to be chill at all.
When I got off of alcohol and was able to think clearly and get realigned through meditation and yoga, and my constant affirmations and self talk that I ramped up as I was quitting, drinking, I realized that I needed to hatch a plan to build a large organization and movement around the miracle that I had experienced. The neuroscience of what I had accomplished needed to be shared, and without the aid of any rehabilitation programs or traditional 12 step programs I had kicked Tito to the curb.
What the hell did I just do?
Keep in mind that I was a real pro drinker and could drink all day on the days where I could get away with it, pop a Xanax at night, and be the first one up and do it again the next day. Vodka is what I switched to for the last 10 years or so as it’s the most efficient alcohol delivery mechanism, or, “the heroin of the sauce”(I drink Popov for the TASTE, my Good Fellow).
I modeled my “GratiHabilitation” program after other programs and just as the 12 step program puts faith at the center, I too needed a huge amount of Spiritual Courage, or the Assist of something much bigger than me. I needed a Wingman for courage to go through the withdrawal and detoxification process and all of the self talk and reprogramming that I needed to do in that first month.
I remember the moment when I felt the tumblers in the safe, so to speak, fall into place and I knew I was free and I was never going to drink alcohol again.
Nothing short of a miracle folks.
But it wasn’t “Woo-Woo”, but instead it was the same science that Joseph McClendon the third, a PhD in neuroscience in California and one of Tony Robbins original right hand people had serendipitously introduced me to after he caught me calling myself “stupid “and he knew that he had a neuroscientific emergency on his hands.
That moment changed my life as it introduced me to what the impacts are of both positive and negative self talk and just how powerful it is from a physical standpoint and how impactful it is to your brain and how your reality takes shape.
What I experienced was really the result of hard work and me leveraging what I had learned over the years about how the brain functions and where my opportunity was to make a move!
I had to use self-talk, meditation, yoga, heavy exercise, and Faith, to save myself from myself if I could forgive myself for all the things that I never really did.
From there, I started to piece together, what had occurred and started to inquire as to how I could explain this to other people and what it would take to put together a learning program around what the process is to introduce novices and folks that have never meditated to the idea of taking control of your thoughts in real time.
Through my studies with the esteemed and extremely knowledgeable, Dr. LJ Rose, one of the founders of the Natural Wellness Academy, I learned about the brains functioning, what language it responds to, and how we can understand the origins of our existing thoughts and behaviors by recognizing the impacts of past experiences, relationships, and all of the fingerprints and residues left behind on our hearts, minds and souls.
I decided the best way to encourage others to a path of mindfulness and to including meditation their daily lives was to become certified in the science of meditation and hypnotherapy so I can actually deliver the experience in a safe controlled fashion to people so they have the opportunity to experience the benefits without having to tackle the fear and uncertainty of doing it on their own.
Gratitude will be used just like you used a bag of treats in your pocket when you’re training a puppy.
Every time a puppy does what you’re looking for it to do you want to reinforce that behavior immediately with what’s called a feedback loop and in this case of a puppy, you’re using a dog treat something tasty that they cut it and enjoy. This way the little puppy correlates, the behavior with the response so they understand that behavior is beneficial to them because of the resulting feeling they get from the treat.
You will experience the equivalent of a milk bone dog biscuit in your brain when you take deep breaths and shift your focus to thoughts of abundance people you appreciate your life happy memories, or other things that you are grateful to have or to have had in your life.
And when you do this, boom! you feel the releases of serotonin and positive endorphins you improve your immune system and you feel a higher brain wave of an alpha or wave that creates a very positive physical reaction in your body.

Here’s your treat.

And to cut straight to the point, this helps, you learn to stay in the present moment of now in your life.
This makes you a better friend.
This makes you a better lover, spouse, boyfriend, and girlfriend.
Present moment, awareness allows you to be more kind and compassionate.
Being in now allows you to interact in a more genuine way that provides a greater feeling of satisfaction for the people that you were talking with or interacting with.
In a business, this means that the people around you, your members, Guest customers, clients sales prospects, all feel much more comfortable, and it is when they are with you because you were in the moment which puts you at ease.
You can imagine what this does in a business environment a country club a retail outlet. This present moment awareness changes everything and creates a culture that is real authentic, palpable and healthy.
Present awareness in your leaders of your businesses will drive insane profits, and improve the values of any asset that these leaders get involved with.
