Here’s some GratiWater and Sunshine for your Soul Seed Sister, now Let’s BLOOM!!

Through the year of western and eastern philosophy courses I took in junior College in California during a special semester program called the humanities connections program at Cabrillo. I was introduced to a lot of incredible thinking and writing.

We got really deep origins of Western philosophy and all the pre-Socratic thinkers in the Greek tradition obviously Aristotle being one of the most celebrated the OG Greeks.

I’ve actually revisited in some of my medication’s Plato‘s allegory of the cave as I understand a little bit more about what he was talking about in terms of the Ponuick ideals and the illusion of operating by your physical senses Plato would point out all of the unhealthy and self-destructive behavior that goes on in modern society in the pursuit of material gain that ends up killing many people prematurely. Play-Doh with no doubt use this as proof positive that his allegory the cave still holds the meaning even a few thousand years later.

The second semester with Miss Nancy Brown, the surfing from pleasure point santa Cruz, was all eastern to me. That’s when Nancy really hit another gear like the old school 911 Porsches when you could have that rare opportunity to put it into fifth. That only happens at about 105 miles an hour so you don’t very often….from

What I’ve heard ha ha.

That’s when we got into Hinduism, jism Buddhism, and for me it was fascinating to see many of the similarities between a lot of the ancient teachings when you go back to their origins.

One of the mentors that this education introduced me to the great Vietnamese Teacher/Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh, who became good friends with Martin Luther King during their mutual opposition of the Vietnam war.

Through Martin Luther King had the opportunity to be introduced Christianity and likewise, he introduced MLK to Buddhism and some of the teachings of the Buddha.  They both came to mutually each other and learn from and learned a great dealThey both came to mutually each other and learn from each other over the years prior to MLK’s premature death.

One of the things that TTH taught was his belief that everyone contained within themselves, the Christ or the Buddha seed, and it simply needed the proper environment, attention and inputs in order to bloom fully, and to a human being that thought and felt, and even in the same manner as a divine being.

His work is immortalized in France in the Plum Village, more here:

Thich Nhat Hanh: Extended Biography

I truly believe this to be factual in my heart of hearts, and I understand that often times there are chemical, imbalances, mental health, trauma, and other variables that limit us from being able to see this beautiful seed that’s inside of every single human being, but believe me, just like a needle in a haystack, if you look hard enough, you will find it.

When I’m around big cities in America suffering, our guest and mental health suffers, I see their ideal potential in each one of them, even if mucus and dirt and stink cover them from head to toe. I know that with proper washing some love and care, nurturing and perhaps a different path in their life, they would look more beautiful and shiny than I ever could even my best day.

I will not judge them and think that I am better than them because I could easily be one of them or I could be dead from all of my self-destructive behavior that I exercised through an avoidance of dealing with core trauma and issues from my childhood and my teen years.

Now that I’ve saved myself myself and forgiven myself for all the shit I never really did, it’s time for me to take the mask off myself and start walking around the plane and look for people turning blue and save some damn lives today.

I’m not joking, even a little little bit.

So as this soft-spoken sweet man in the mountains of Peru, reminds us our breath connects  us to all of the nature around us, and our joy, and our love is inside of us and simply needs activation and permission to bloom, fully, like the lotus flower blooms out of the muck and mud of the pond to show its beautiful bright colors.

If we look at ourselves just like plants and we break it down to the variables that we have around us, just like a plant needs certain nutrients and water in the sunlight, however, it needs different nutrients at different times of its life, depending on if it’s in a vegetative or a fruiting cycle.

We need people around us, different music, different books, different food, different activities than the ones we are doing if we don’t feel great when we wake up and we’re not thankful and filled with joy during our days.  We have the ability to feel this way because I have felt shitty for days at a time with self induced vodka flu thanks to making out with Tito all night and dehydrating my body and poisoning my organs.

Now that I don’t do that my body, mine so hard or all align, and I’m able to feel the joy inside me and allow the seed, or/seed, to grow to continue to bloom so the fruits can be consumed by others for the benefit of all.

And if my fruit isn’t your flavor and it’s not something you need well that’s totally cool. Just walk by my tree and keep going and find what you need and let others take what they need from me because everything I have has been provided by something bigger than me and it’s never it’s always meant to be given away.

If you really know me, you know this to be true, and when you bring your bucket to my well, it will never be dry. As long as I am alive I will have something to share with you, my friend.

So if I can help awaken that seed inside you, please don’t hit the snooze button and let let’s go!

If I’m not your flavor, that’s cool too brother. Just keep moving and find what you need cause only you know what’s missing.

In any case, I’ll see you at the big harvest party, where we celebrate our abundance and we share and recognizing our Attitude of Gratitude.
