The moment I stand up with my boots on and start climbing, I’ve won.

I had dinner last week with my bro Greg from the National Golf Foundation when I was on the East Coast filming contact with one of my partners.  I. don’t get to see G very often, but I’ve known for him for at least 20 years in the golf industry and it is always a pleasure to see his smile.

I’ll take this opportunity to apologize for Greg for dominating the conversation however I was looking for some feedback and thoughts from someone I really admire and respect as I’m preparing for the biggest professional move of my life, the launch of my happiness, Sherpa, coaching business and Grateful For Community.

I wanted to milk Greg for all of his perspective while I had the opportunity, so next time we get together G, I promise that ALL we’re gonna talk about is your shoe collection and maybe some concert stories that you have and I’m gonna mute my microphone ha ha ha.

ONE OF THE MOMENTS THAT GREG HAD THE OPPORTUNITY TO TAKE THE MICROPHONE, HE ASKED ME IF I HAD BEEN FOLLOWING THE MOUNT EVEREST CLIMB ADVENTURE OF RHETT EVANS of the GCSAA, FOR HIS UPCOMING ADVENTURE.  I SAW SOME OF THIS ON LINKEDIN. HOWEVER, I WAS NOT FOLLOWING HIM YET ON INSTAGRAM UNTIL GREGG GAVE ME THE HEADS UP…CHECK IT:

The amount of resources planning and logistics that are involved in a modern climb for Mount Everest is completely mind-boggling. Seeing it in a more upfront close-up cell phone video capture versus a big movie production makes it much more real and intimate and the number of actors and support people that are required for someone to make that climb is truly incredible.

Obviously, the overlap of this story in my business venture is hard to ignore with the common theme of having a guide or a Sherpa.

The Sherpa can do an incredible amount of things in terms of providing safety and security because of all the other experience and knowledge of the mountain however, there are a few things that they can’t do:

know how you are REALLY feeling and EXACTLY how your mind and body are doing.

When the Sherpa asks you what your state of being is, your job is to answer openly and honestly, as it was YOU that began the climb AND asked for the help of the Sherpa. It matters not if you are mountain climbing or in your living room pursuing your own personal greatness with me, your obligation in the relationship is to respond as openly as you possibly can knowing that our intention and our job is to help you make your climb a success.

Rhett is going dark right now because he is moving into the high altitude phase to make the five day push to the summit.  I would like for us to take just a quick minute and say a quick meditation or prayer for a safe return home and for an experience that enriches his life and brings him tremendous joy and satisfaction.

You’ll notice that my prayer for Rhett has nothing to do with whether or not he reaches the summit because he knows just like I know and we were taught by our master Yoda that there is no “try only do”.

The very act of embarking on the climb is everything there is no spreadsheet needed to do an analysis afterwards on whether or not the juice was worth the squeeze.
The knowledge of the understanding of how you handle adversity and challenge, and the growth that takes place during after as you process the experience.

There is no failure in the pursuit of your personal greatness. It’s impossible.

Isn’t that a relief?

I bring this up because one of my closest friends who I’ve known and been very close with for over 20 years, is always super honest and open with me, which is one of the reasons we will be brothers until we die.  And his honesty he let me know that my brainstorming session for my initial happiness Sherpa six week program that I’m launching in June, he felt downright terrified.

My bro H, when he realized my program helps you create a much deeper knowledge of self as we explain how memories and the mind work, giving you the opportunity to explore your personal make up and cosmology.  H would love to learn a great deal about neuroscience and to learn from great brilliant Sherpas in all sorts of fields of wellness and Happiness, it just feels like a little bit too for him at this moment in time given some of the personal things that he’s dealing with relative to his own relationships and growth.

That is beautiful that he is that self-aware and in touch with his emotions that he can be both open and honest with himself and with me.  So I won’t hard sell that friend, but the rest of you……look out!! Ha ha.

Timing is everything in life(along with energy), and when the Student is ready, the Teacher always appears.

And just like Rhett over there about to climb Mount Everest, he probably didn’t feel ready to climb out Everest a year ago or five years ago, but he did what he needed to do to get himself ready both physically, and mentally, to overcome his fears. He prioritized the Climb and made it a financial and logistical priority to get this onto his life calendar and to make it happen no matter what using the Law of Attraction and his Higher Power and Self.

When you peel the onion a bit further you’ll see that standing behind Rhett Evans on top of the mountain or probably some very dear family members and close friends without those people in his corner, he probably would’ve gotten knocked out in the first round. Instead, he pushes on with the support of others along with his personal grit, determination, and focus, and the combine effort is the teamwork that makes the dream work.

And there is no failure when you do this.

The minute you strap on your boots and stand up you’re a winner.

Hard stop.

Same thing goes with the Program that I am putting together with all of my Team and support folks, as we bring in Master Sherpa experts to grow our understandings and introduce us to new forms of communication and learning. Useful and practical information about how our subconscious mind works, where 95% of our thoughts happen, and how we can take more control through our thought patterns through subconscious and present moment awareness.

All of this will lead us towards putting more tools in our mind/spirit/body toolbox with a very simple goal: to elevate the level of joy in our life and to have shorter intervals between our periods of happiness.

My entire focus right now is building as much value into my Programs as possible because once folks take that leap, or start on the path of the mountain, I want them to feel incredibly good every step of the way. I want ALL CLIMBERS to keep coming back for more and more climbs with me as there is always another summit to pursue with another area of growth to uncover.

This is how you stay Young Forever, and you can declare yourself already a Winner, just by improving the elevation of your Attitude of Gratitude.
