Morning Platitude from The GratiDude
I’m starting to see patterns of people that find another gear or that accelerate to a velocity that they never thought possible. What triggered individuals to be able to muster more confidence and less fear. Was it a particular event or a moment or was it gradual?
One concept is that of the primal cue that my buddy Rob has explained to me as basically a concept that when individuals receive a signal that strikes them deeply and awakens are realization that life is in permanent, or that safety is not guaranteed, or something very fundamental about life itself, that person can find a way to overcome any remaining fears because the immediate or the impermanence of their own life becomes bigger than the fears that they were experiencing.
In the context of talent and motivation, “primal cues” refer to unconscious, evolutionary-driven signals that can trigger intense energy and motivation, often stemming from experiences like safety, belonging, or witnessing mastery
In the case of this video, it was a combination of a building sense of confidence along with an economic jolt of being fired. It can be funny that when you have nothing to lose, it seems like you have everything to gain and suddenly you can start playing offense like you never have before.
Yes, fear can significantly limit manifesting because it creates a negative energy field that can block the flow of positive intentions and attract unwanted outcomes.
Here’s why fear can hinder manifesting:
Negative Energy:
Fear is a powerful negative emotion that can create a low-vibrational energy field, which can repel positive outcomes and attract situations that align with the fear.
Self-Doubt and Limiting Beliefs:
Fear often leads to self-doubt and limiting beliefs, which can sabotage your ability to believe in your desires and take the necessary actions to manifest them.
Resistance to Change:
Fear of the unknown or of failure can cause you to resist the changes and challenges that are necessary for manifesting your desires.
Focus on the Negative:
When you’re consumed by fear, you tend to focus on the potential negative outcomes rather than the positive ones, which can create a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Emotional Blocks:
Fear can create emotional blocks that prevent you from fully embracing your desires and allowing them to manifest into your reality.
I’ve joked with other entrepreneurs in the golf industry, going back many years and those of us that have worked in small companies and entrepreneurship see another entrepreneur succeed and we might say to ourselves “there goes another 10 year overnight success”.
What you see from an individual or a businessperson or an artist is when you finally catch up with what they’re doing and experience it for yourself there’s already been 10,000 hours of work going into that moment that you were experiencing for the first time.
This is one more reason that process becomes everything because your life is spent in the process of pursuing your own greatness and building whatever business or career or project that you wish to lean into and pour your heart and soul into you, want it to be aligned with who you are From the perspective of your higher self. Furthermore, since you’re spending so much time in the process on a daily basis or in your job or whatever that may be, it needs to be aligned with the types of things that you enjoy doing, and you also need to feel good or at least comfortable about the people that you’re working with and for
This is very hard to do in modern society in the ancient days of the pre-modern world. They were very few speaking different types of occupations and so it was easy for the Buddha to talk about things like “right livelihood”.
In the eightfold Noble path of life, which is the blueprint for how to live a satisfying meaningful life from the perspective of the dude that became known as the Buddha right livelihood consist of doing something for your day-to-day work that doesn’t contribute to the suffering of others.
It could be argued that anybody working in the golf industry is in violation of this because golf can cause some of the most suffering of any sport that I’ve ever known. Just joking.
In the modern world, you could see how this would get complicated though right?
For example, an engineer that’s writing a section of code for computing fuel usage and spacecraft might not have any intention at all at contributing to the destruction that happens from acts of war. But once you write that code and contribute your little piece of work, you become detached from how it is used, and where those spacecraft go or how the technology is deployed based upon commercial opportunities for your employer, that might be Boeing, for example.
I can appreciate that things aren’t so black-and-white as they used to be and what becomes critically important for many of us is how we’re treating everyone in our lives in terms of our coworkers, our family, and our friends and even people we interact within the community.
Showing kindness and compassion in our day-to-day lives for me, becomes the greatest expression of right livelihood because it permeates whatever job or career you’re doing and makes kindness a part of the culture.
That’s a massive contribution and a gift that keeps giving.
Enjoy your own process today, lean into it and tweak it and adjusted if need be so that you can achieve greater contentment greater happiness, and hopefully experienced moments of joy today and every single day.
Look for me on TV this afternoon I’m going to be following Billy Horschel at the players and I’ll have my gratitude hat on to do some shameless PR in the case the camera pans over to a face for radio(yours truly). Shout out to Jon Heaton at Excell sports for hooking me up with the ticket and I look forward to seeing you and meeting your son as well.
I can’t even express how grateful I am for my life, but if you tune in to the golf tournament today, wear your sunglasses because I’m going to be shining an incredibly bright attitude of gratitude.
