Morning Platitude from The GratiDude
I keep seeing bumper stickers and hearing people talk about how critical mindset is and how available shift of attitude is for anyone and everyone. I’m taking this as a sign for me to personally examine and elevate my own talk track to pursue my goals, much faster, and in a more aggressive manner.
I was sharing a link with my Brothers Roberto and Gregorio Open insane house listing in Scottsdale Arizona. That was the ultimate man cave crib that included an entire sneaker museum and show room which complemented the full-size basketball court that was indoors as well. On the wall of the basketball court in this whatever $30 million mansion palace was written in huge letters probably at least one or 2 feet tall. The “attitude is free.”
Like damn here we are in the most expensive house in North Scottsdale to hit the market in a year and this person who built this crib is telling you their secret right there on the wall. They took advantage of the availability of a free attitude of gratitude, and they dream big and then grab themselves a can of Goya and this Goya stands for get off your ass, which this person certainly must’ve done in some form or fashion, and showed up somewhere because they ended up with a house big enough to house a small village from Guatemala.
I find it amazing hard to believe and easy to believe at the same time. What a simple system we have self-narration that can be detrimental to our well-being. If we’re not careful what I mean by that is that I keep reading and double-checking the statistics but at least 90% of our thoughts are on a loop and on repeat. Because our bodies in organisms were constructed to make sure that we are safe enough to live long enough to procreate. We are very susceptible to creating fear or responding to fear other than instinctual, need to preserve our DNA long enough to breed.
When we consume media and information that is only aimed at getting us to stay glued to the screen to watch the next advertisement or commercial, or to mine or phone for data, we run the risk of losing track of our talk track and ending up with the thoughts that benefits someone else other than us. This kid here pitching for Virginia is a master of self-talk positive affirmations self-deprecation internal dialogue.
It is a champion of mindset.
This is where sports can be beneficial because it becomes a parent very quickly that the difference between elite and highly accomplished athletes and just exceptionally good athletes is not usually just physical but more so the space between the ears or his Bobby Jones called it the 5.5 inches. This is we’re having a life coach and understanding the need to uncover your blind spots and to talk through your own processes becomes a parent. There are no college baseball teams without at least one coach if not an entire coaching staff for that very reason.
Yes, self-talk is considered particularly important during athletic competitions, as it can significantly impact an athlete’s performance by influencing their confidence, focus, and ability to manage stress and setbacks, with positive self-talk leading to better results compared to negative self-talk.
Key points about self-talk in athletics:
Positive impact:
Using positive affirmations and motivational phrases can boost confidence, improve focus, and help athletes persevere through challenging situations.
Negative impact:
Conversely, negative self-talk can lead to decreased motivation, anxiety, and poorer performance.
Several types of self-talk:
Athletes can use both instructional self-talk (focusing on technical aspects) and motivational self-talk (boosting confidence) depending on the situation.
Mental training:
Learning to manage self-talk is often considered a key component of mental training for athletes.
We’re here for you to act just like the pitching coach at the University of Virginia and help guide your talents. Encourage your positive self-talk so that we can see you doing interviews on TV after a tremendous showing during which you used your self-talk to guide you through a tough situation.
Never underestimate your ability to impact your future through self-love, and self-talk.
That’s an attitude of gratitude.
