Morning Platitude from The GratiDude

It’s becoming more and more clear to me that the world that an individual sees in front of them is merely a mirror to the emotions, thoughts and experiences that are going on inside you.

You don’t have to look very far to see that this must be true when you look at the fact that we are all here on the same planet at the same time with the same equipment and human organism yet we all see the world a little bit differently, and in some cases quite differently, depending on the talk track and the thoughts that we are experiencing.

This is from the department of redundancy department however we do want to remind you that 90 to 95% of all your thoughts are on repeat so if you’re going to have something playing on repeat, it ought to be your favorite song right?

I can also attest to how much my worldview and perspective on reality has changed particularly over the last 20 years and more specifically over the last six since I quit drinking alcohol every single day. I’ll give you a few examples:

I now not only believe in miracles, but I also know they exist and happen all around me every day. A miracle being defined as something that defies all odds, and or seems to work against the known laws of physics or of science and seem somewhat otherworldly or magical.

I feel my place in the living family and no longer perceive myself to be on the outside, looking at nature as if it is separate or apart from me. I feel it I feel me connected to everything around me through my awareness and my open heart.

I know clearly what my path is and what my role here is amongst the living family in terms of providing value, and that is to be a beacon of unconditional love and to grow my compassion and kindness every single day, and to be the thermostat wherever I go and never simply react as the thermometer.

When people share incredible stories or testimonials of things they’ve witnessed and many people are incredulous, or believe that the stories are fantasies, or simply lies. Me? I’m a believer.

I choose the path of acceptance and belief because if somebody would tell me where I would be today and how I would look and feel 10 years ago there’s no fucking way I would believe it.

If somebody showed me a picture of how I look now 15 years ago and the way that I move about the universe, I wouldn’t even know how I could get here or what would’ve happened that would’ve triggered such a massive shift and change in my behavior and outlook to life.

But here I am, and I could never be anywhere else.

I’m a walking miracle of a “W” built from all of my “Ls”.

Yes, our emotional state and internal experiences can significantly influence how we perceive and interpret the world around us, meaning we don’t necessarily see the world as it objectively is, but rather through a lens shaped by our feelings.

Here’s a more detailed explanation:

Active Perception:

We are active perceivers, not passive observers, meaning we don’t simply receive information from the world and then react to it. Instead, we construct our perceptions of the world based on our own experiences and internal states.

Emotions Shape Perception:

Our emotional state can influence what we see, hear, and feel. For example, a neutral face might seem likeable depending on our emotional state at the time.

The “Experience Machine”:

Our brains are essentially “experience machines” that predict and shape our reality, constantly interpreting sensory information and filtering it through our internal models of the world.

Internal State as a Filter:

Our internal state, including our emotions, beliefs, and expectations, acts as a filter through which we perceive the world.

Example:

If you are feeling anxious, you might interpret ambiguous situations as threatening, while if you are feeling optimistic, you might see the same situation as opportunities.

Perception is not always accurate:

Our perception of the world is not always accurate or objective. We may see the world through a lens of our own biases and experiences, which can lead to misinterpretations and misunderstandings.

I also feel the need today to remind myself to double down on the recipe that got me here, and that is trust and continuing to take that leap of faith every single day, and pursuing my own path in the quest for my own greatness and to maximize the gifts that I’ve received from the source of all love energy and life.
