Morning Platitude from The GratiDude
Until I got on some of the other social media, particularly Instagram and Facebook, I didn’t realize that Stoicism and reading about the stoic philosophers from back in the day had become popular or a thing.
Particularly with young men here in the United States at least, that are just getting into mindfulness and personal growth and exploring thoughts and ideas outside of mainstream pop and consumer culture, seem to be attracted to the messages of stoicism.
In a basic sense, the Stoics believed that the world is a stage and all of us are merely players performing our own small part. What this implies in the message here is that we don’t have control or the ability to impact large macro events or the way the world works all we can do is control our attitude
My theory here is that in an ever-complex world with increased information being served to us it becomes easy to feel overwhelmed and exceedingly small with little ability to have an impact.
When stoicism comes along and tells you, yes you’re right there really isn’t anything you can do about the big picture so just let go, that can be attractive. Let go of any aspiration to be able to control exactly what the play is that’s being performed on the stage and instead you lean into your own role and learn your lines.
The more I get into personal development and wellness the more I realize that there’s an infinite amount of possibilities and diverse ways to improve and grow and you could never stop or finish as the opportunities are endless for improvement.
When I hear people really into and focused on consuming all of the scarcity themed information(social and conventional media themes) that’s out there and they’re frustrated due to an inability to make things better. The reality is the fastest way to make the World better is to make YOURSELF better. We all need to start doing the work that is available to us and that is necessary for wellness, and that is totally under all of our control.
The greatest way you can make the world better is do what Michael Jackson said and start with the man in the mirror.
This is not bullshit. This is very real.
What’s the alternative?
To be stubborn and to say “I’m going to wait until EVERYTHING gets better and EVERYONE else gets healthy. Only then will I join everyone and get better myself. That way I’m not putting in all the work for no good reason. Because what good would it do if I’m the only one that gets healthy and starts vibrating at a high speed.”
You’re not the only one and in fact you’re late for the party so get moving, ha!
I know that I can be the thermostat wherever I go and create change by moving the “temperature” by operating from a place of abundance and sharing the unconditional love freely that I feel in my heart.
It does not matter whether or not folks are comfortable with it or acknowledge it.
I am doing my process that makes me healthy and following the various specific and clear orders for my higher self and higher power that have told me I will never run out of love, and I should share the love in my heart whenever I can.
Yes, according to many people, including those in the fields of psychology and spirituality, your energy can indeed influence the energy of others, particularly through your emotional state, body language, and overall presence, with some individuals being more sensitive to this “energy shift” than others, especially those considered “empaths” who readily absorb the emotions of those around them; however, there is no concrete scientific evidence to fully prove this concept.
Key points about how your energy can affect others:
Positive energy can be contagious:
When you are happy, optimistic, and positive, it can uplift the mood of people around you.
Negative energy can also be contagious:
Conversely, if you are stressed, angry, or anxious, your negativity can impact those near you.
Empaths:
People who are considered “empaths” are particularly sensitive to the emotions and energy of others, often feeling a strong shift in their own mood based on the people they are with.
Body language and tone of voice:
Your non-verbal cues like facial expressions, posture, and tone of voice play a significant role in conveying your energy to others.
When I was 21 yrs old I asked God and The Universe for the first time “will I ever run out of love?”.
I received immediately the vision of a waterfall of love falling from the sky into my heart whenever I needed it, and this is a promise from creation to me that I hold dear.
People are going to do what people are going to do; however, we can impact the people around us just with our behavior and the example that we show for good or for bad.
I make an effort to talk to the people that least expect me to talk to them to be very vocal and visual with my displays of appreciation and affection with strangers and to breakdown the artificial barriers that separate us in the society.
This way, I encourage others to create community, exactly where they stand.
That’s an attitude of gratitude.
