Thermostat vs. Thermometer.
Now that I understand the term and the explanation of the difference between people that act as a thermostat and people that simply act as a thermometer.
What this term describes is that when you are fully aligned and comfortable with who you are how you feel and what you want to do, there is no second-guessing on how you should behave or what your actions should be. You are in the flow you have clarity, and you have what is called heart coherence on your side working for you to make good decisions.
This would be in contrast or in comparison to someone being referred to as a thermometer.
A thermometer does not take an active part in creating the temperature, but instead simply act as a device to read the room and then display what the temperature is based upon the ambient environment.
No impact just reporting information.
The reason I bring that up, is that when we walk into a situation or an organization or even in our families and we decide that we’re going to make a decision on how to operate based upon what other people are doing or what the existing situation or vibration is, we shut ourselves down, we take away our own opportunity to contribute our unique value and to display the gifts that we have been provided by the creator of all light, love, energy and life.
We are disrespecting our own gifts when we don’t use them, and we don’t use our gifts when we are simply doing what everybody else is doing or behaving like everyone else is behaving and being a copycat.
Can you imagine if Juan Travolta here showed up at the big Ranch party and if everybody was being a wallflower and not that he would just stand on the wall like everybody else?
Yes, an individual can change the energy of a room through their presence, actions, and mindset, as people can influence the atmosphere of a space by their emotions, behavior, and even the way they arrange the physical environment; essentially, the energy of a room can be affected by the people within it.
Key points to consider:
Intention and mindset:
By consciously setting an intention to create a positive or calm atmosphere, a person can influence the perceived energy of a room.
Physical changes:
Rearranging furniture, adding plants, opening windows for fresh air, or playing music can significantly alter the feeling of space.
Non-verbal cues:
Body language, facial expressions, and tone of voice can contribute to the overall vibe of a room.
Emotional residue:
A room can hold lingering emotions from past events or people, which an individual can try to shift with positive energy.
Nobody would get to enjoy his talent and all the hard work he had put into working on his dance moves because other people weren’t dancing?
This drives home the point of how important it is to find your own frequency and get connected in a way that you can maintain a consistent state of being that is in the world of abundance and not in the world of fear and scarcity. This means that you can’t rely on getting the information or the guidance from the outside on how to find a pathway to a calm state of mind, instead it is something that you have to cultivate and develop your own daily practice in order to remain consistent and present the best version of yourself as often as possible.
I remember the mornings while I was still drinking and before I started meditating, and depending on what my first few thoughts were for the day, it could really put me into a tailspin to get out of if I wasn’t careful.
Having a thought of a business deal while sleeping and waking up and grabbing my phone and going right into emails and into the details of some business transaction as the very first thing I did even before I got out of bed sometimes.
What a shitty vibe for my first vibe of the day looking back on it.
I can also remember being hung over and hearing garbage trucks down the street and realizing that it was garbage day and I probably only had about 22 seconds to get my garbage cans out or I would be in real trouble for another week and the outside of my house would smell like the city dump.
Jumping up and running full speed panicked, the smell of garbage the first thing I smell in the day all because I was too out of it or drunk to do at the night before when I should’ve brought the garbage cans out.
Another terrible way to start your day.
In both examples I didn’t start my day out even saying thank you for waking up. Even 10 seconds with a deep breath and just saying, thank you could have made a world of difference, but I needed to go through that type of life to know that I want to live this type of life.
If you see me at the PGA show, you will have no trouble finding me because I’m always loud and proud at these Golf Industry Events. I will be super excited to be there given the fact that there are so many old friends attending that I rarely get to see that will all be in Orlando for just a few days.
You can’t know what is truly inside you if your thoughts are racing into the future and filled with anxiety. You are then filling yourself with anxiety.
There is no shortcut to getting calm and it starts with your breath and one breath at a time.
We’re going to get into the medical science health wellness benefits of the difference between nose and mouth breathing in our next Sherpa coaching session on the ABC’s of\ Wellness with TypeCoach starting at the beginning of March.
When I share with you information on what happens to your body and the impacts on everything from the skeletal structure of your face, your throat, and all your major health metrics are vastly improved the moment you start breathing through your nose.
Good news is you won’t need your nose.
If you are at the PGA show you’ll be able to close your eyes and hear the booming off key baritone of the bucket headed brother and Golfer known as the GratiDude.
Let’s all heat the room up like thermostats and take control of the situation by sharing everything good that we have inside of us just like show and tell in elementary school, but this time the showing is that of our great energy and the telling is that of appreciation love and compassion.
That’s the program for an attitude of gratitude.
